DINE OUT COMMITTEE Duties of the DineOut Committee The DineOut Committee arranges 7 monthly fine dining restaurant experiences, generally during the third week of each month, from October through May (except December), coordinating with Social Events to avoid conflicts in scheduling. The DineOut Committee consists of a minimum of 18 members, with a minimum of 6 new members recruited by the DineOut Committee each year. Those invited to join the DineOut Committee serve a three-year term. Under the Nauset Newcomers Bylaws, all DineOut committee members must be a member of the NN club in good standing. Also, each member must have been an officer, or served as a member of a club committee, or demonstrated significant participation in DineOut events. Chairperson(s) of the DineOut committee should typically be entering their 3rd year of service, and shall select their Co-Chairperson(s), typically entering their 2nd year of service. The Nauset Newcomers Vice President serves as a liaison to the DineOut Committee, and the chair of the DineOut committee should be sent the board meeting agendas and be invited to attend the board meetings to enhance communication and coordination of events within the Nauset Newcomers organization. The DineOut Committee is also responsible for printing out name badges and place cards for every dinner event. Nauset Newcomers will reimburse for printer cartridges that may be required for this printing over the course of the membership year, as well as for all paper for flyers, name tags and table cards. If at all possible, the DineOut Committee should attempt to vary the fees for different DineOuts that are close in time, to make it easier for the Treasurer to allocate payments that are made online to the correct events. Blue-Pay, the credit card processor for Nauset Newcomers, only provides the amount of the charge, not the purpose. Checks received from members for DineOut events should be given to the Treasurer at least 5 business days before a vendor check can be issued. This is to make sure all personal checks clear. Templates for name tags, table tents, sample Lunch Contract, Dinner Contracts, Introduction Letter, and an Event Financial Report can be found on the DineOut Committee’s webpage. In addition, step-by-step instructions for online and mailed-in registrations are provided. The DineOut Committee must work closely with the Tech Team to ensure that the Tech Team is provided with ample lead time to prepared the website for online registrations. This means providing a copy of the flyer that will be used to promote the event, and any additional details that the Tech Team may need. DineOut Committee Members (2024-2025)
