Upcoming Programs for Nauset Newcomers: 2016-2017March 8 - "Pruning with Confidence" Will Clarke, a Master Gardener on Cape Cod since 1988, is also a Mass. Certified Horticulturist and member of the Ecological Landscaping Alliance. Pruning is essential in maintaining healthy plants and improving flowering and fruiting. Do you have hydrangeas, high bush blueberries among other plantings? Come learn when, what, and how to prune your shrubs and small trees.
April 12th - Founded in 2002, The Outer Cape Chorale is an auditioned group that has grown to over 140 singers. Led by Allison Beaven, Artistic Director, their mission is to bring the joy of singing to as many people as possible on Cape Cod. The Outer Cape Chorale Chamber Singers, a dynamic group of 20 singers from the Chorale, will be performing selected works that celebrate life on the Cape.
May 10th - Ever wonder what bird that is singing in your yard? Come to an interactive presentation on bird song and identification May 10 by Mark Faherty who has been at Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary since 2007. Mark is an emcee and trip leader for multiple birding festivals and leads workshops on birding by ear, eBird, birding apps, and general bird identification. He is past president of the Cape Cod Bird Club and current member of the Massachusetts Avian Records Committee. Mark’s weekly essay on Cape and Islands bird life, the “Bird Report”, airs each Wednesday on the Cape and Islands NPR station, where he also co-hosts “Bird News”, a monthly call-in show all about birds, on The Point with Mindy Todd.

Monthly meetings, featuring quality programs highlighting local talent and resources, are open to the public in September through May. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Wellfleet Cinemas on Route 6 in Wellfleet. The entertainment begins at 10:00 a.m. after an hour of refreshments and socializing. Come meet your neighbors!

The Orleans Citizens Forum will present "Findings & Recommendations of the Revenue Committee” on Wed., March 1, at 3:30 PM at the Orleans COA, 150 Rock Harbor Road, Orleans. The Speakers will be Paul Kelleher, Alan McClennen and Marilyn Bruneau. There will be a Q&A for the audience.
