ORLEANS CITIZENS FORUM

QUALITY OF LIFE EXPO

SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2018

The Orleans Citizens Forum is hosting a regional Quality of Life Expo at the Nauset Regional Middle School Gymnasium on Saturday, September 29th between the hours of 9 A.M. and 1 P.M..  The event is designed to afford the public of the Lower Cape Towns an opportunity to meet representatives of many organizations that provide a variety of services to this area of Cape Cod.  Over 40 organizations representing educational, entertainment, cultural and human service programs will be present to meet the public and share information about their programs and services.

This is the second Expo sponsored by the Orleans Citizens Forum.  OCF is serving as a catalyst to bring together organizations that appreciate an opportunity to share their information with an interested public that wants a convenient way to learn about a host of programs that provide services of varying kinds. "It's a win-win for the public and these organizations, " says Kent Arnold, President of the Forum.  "We call it the Quality of Life Expo because all these organizations contribute to the quality of life those of us who live on the Lower Cape enjoy."   Many of these organizations rely on volunteers to deliver their services and the Expo provides an opportunity to learn about those opportunities as well as other ways to support them.  On the other hand, individuals can receive information about the programs and services that they and their family and friends may need or want to utilize.

Examples of organizations participating are the Eastham and Snow Libraries, Cape Volunteers, Habitat for Humanity, Cape Cod Children's Place, Academy of Lifelong Learning, Nauset Newcomers, Friends of the National Seashore, WHAT Theatre, WCAI Radio, Chatham Chorale and Nauset Neighbors to name a few.  Visit the OCF website (orleanscitizensforum.org) for a complete listing of the organizations participating.

For more information and interview opportunities contact Kent Arnold, President, Orleans Citizens Forum, 508-255-6115

Have you ever thought of donating to Cape Abilities?

The mission of Cape Abilities is to serve individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod by educating, counseling and providing residential, therapeutic, social and employment supports that empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in the community.

Cape Abilities appreciates when you DONATE quality items in good condition that can be resold in the Cape Abilities shop.  Cape Abilities accepts furniture donations on a daily basis and is happy to work with donors to make arrangements to transport large items. Donated items are tax deductible.

As you upsize, downsize or simply clean out closets, please think of Cape Abilities! Because your purchases and donations support skills training and jobs for the Cape Abilities' participants, your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of the individuals with disabilities that  are served every day.

For more information about furniture donations, or to notify Cape Abilities of items you may want to donate, please email Store Manager Paul Critikos at resale@capeabilities.org.
